LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A Lincoln man is facing felony drug charges after police say he was caught with more than 140 grams of methamphetamine during a late-night traffic stop in north Lincoln. During his arraignment Tuesday in Lancaster County Court, Richard Guilliatt, 55, was charged with possession of over 140 grams of methamphetamine and possession of money while having controlled substances.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A man accused of threatening a driver after a crash was arrested on Friday, Lincoln Police said. Officers were called to North 32nd and Center streets around 6:24 p.m. for a two-vehicle crash. When they arrived, a driver told them the other person involved, 29-year-old Austin Clover, became upset and threatened him with a knife. According to court documents, Clover also demanded the driver empty his pockets but walked away before anything was taken.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A woman accused of attempting to smuggle K2 into a Lincoln prison on Saturday was arrested. Jaci Kuszak, 26, of La Vista was charged with attempt of a class 4 felony. The Nebraska State Patrol was alerted to an individual attempting to sneak contraband into the Nebraska State Penitentiary at 8:12 a.m. Saturday. Troopers arrived and arrested Kuszak.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Police arrested a woman on Thursday after she was allegedly caught driving while intoxicated with a child in the backseat of her car. Chassmen Savage, 32, was charged with DUI and intentional child abuse. LPD said officers stopped Savage after she ran a stop sign near 24th and Q streets at 12:55 a.m. Court documents also noted that Savage’s vehicle was seen swerving over the top of the lane lines.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - An Eagle man was charged after reportedly pointing out guns to a Lincoln thief. According to court documents, 45-year-old Rocky Wright was charged with aiding and abetting a class 2A felony. On Dec. 10, an unknown person cut a hole into a fence surrounding Big Red Storage Complex near North 70th and Custer streets at just after 1:30 a.m. The person entered a unit and stole several firearms before leaving the area. LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The Lincoln City Council unanimously approved the settlement over a crash involving local police at Monday night’s meeting. In total, the city council awarded $780,000 to Jarod and Jamie Velte for injuries and mental distress sustained after a crash involving a Lincoln Police Department vehicle. According to court documents, the crash occurred on Feb. 26, 2022, near 66th Street and Pine Lake Road.

GREENWOOD, Neb. (KOLN) - One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate-80 near Greenwood Sunday morning. According to Greenwood Fire Chief Mark Sobota, first responders were called to mile marker 419 and mile marker 420 near Greenwood on the report of a van vs. semi truck crash. When personnel arrived, both the van and the truck were in the center median. According to the fire department, the driver of the van was declared dead at the scene.

Custodian accused of stealing student’s shoes from Waverly High School

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A Lincoln man who works as a custodian at Waverly High School is accused of stealing items from a student’s locker and reselling them. According to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, a Waverly High School student realized they were missing their track shoes, along with a number of other items, from their school locker. The student’s parents went to a Lincoln resale store, Play it Again Sports, and bought a pair of shoes for an upcoming event.
Two people injured after crash in south Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Two people were injured after a crash near Beaver Creek Lane and Pine Lake Road on Saturday at 9:27 a.m.According to Lincoln Police, a driver was travelling northbound on Beaver Creek Lane, when they prepared to turn west onto Pine Lake Road. As they were turning, they were struck by an eastbound vehicle, which reportedly ignored a red traffic light. LPD said the driver of the eastbound vehicle, a 17-year-old male juvenile, was cited for violating a traffic signal.
