COLUMBUS, Neb. (KOLN) - A man was convicted Tuesday after authorities discovered the body of a missing Butler County man in rural Colfax County, leading to charges against three people accused of abandoning and concealing the remains. According to court documents, 47-year-old Robert Weaselhead Jr. pled guilty to removal and concealment of a dead human body, tampering with physical evidence and concealment of the death of the another person. Sentencing for Weaselhead is scheduled for July 3.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A man was arrested after he reportedly drove drunk to get donuts with children in his vehicle, according to court documents. The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were dispatched to Casey’s gas station at 4131 Old Woodlawn Road for reports of an intoxicated driver with two juvenile passengers. The two children were five years old and eight years old.

SEWARD COUNTY, Neb. (KOLN) - Deputies arrested an Arizona man after finding nine pounds of fentanyl during a traffic stop on Interstate 80 last year. On June 19, 2024, a deputy with the Seward County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a vehicle for following too close on Interstate 80. According to the sheriff’s office, while the deputy issued a citation to the driver, 34-year-old Fernando Puerta Perez, the deputy became suspicious that Puerta Perez was involved in criminal activity.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Crimestoppers is looking for a man after he and two others reportedly stole $1,128 worth of merchandise from a Lincoln hardware store. According to LPD, officers were called on May 1 to Menards on N. 27th St. in regards to a shoplifting incident. LPD said Menards staff had done an inventory check and realized that they were missing some merchandise.
