LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Police helped rescue four dogs from a hot car at Gateway Mall on Sunday. Police were called around 4:26 p.m. to the west parking lot of the mall, where four dogs were seen inside a locked vehicle. Police attempted to contact the owner of the vehicle, but could not find any contact information. One of the officers forced entry into the car, which had reached around 99 degrees.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A man was charged after nearly stealing $100,000 as part of a scam, Lincoln Police said. Police were called to a belated fraud on Friday. According to LPD, a man reported that he received an email informing him that he was charged $1,000 from his PayPal account on June 3. The man called the phone number on the email to report the transaction as fraudulent, since he did not have a PayPal account.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A man was arrested on Saturday after allegedly driving three times over the legal limit with three children in the backseat of his vehicle, Lincoln Police said. LPD was called to a hit and run near South 40th Street and Nebraska Parkway. According to LPD, a driver was driving recklessly and speeding. The driver of the vehicle hit the rear of another car near the intersection before he backed up and ran a red light going eastbound on Nebraska Parkway, police said.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Several streets in Lincoln are expected to close for the week of June 9. The following major streets have full closures scheduled:First Street, from Charleston Street to Cornhusker Highway, is expected to be closed from April 28 to Aug. 8 due to bridge maintenance. 12th Street, from Q Street to R Street, is scheduled to close on Tuesday. 40th Street from South Street to Randolph Street is expected to be closed to local traffic for water main replacements from May 28 to Aug. 29.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The Lincoln Police Department is investigating a shooting in north Lincoln from Saturday morning. According to LPD, officers were dispatched to a home near 26th and Potter Streets around 10:30 a.m. for a stabbing. However, when police arrived, they found a 41-year-old Lincoln man and a 32-year-old Lincoln woman with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to the hospital, as of Saturday evening, both are in critical condition.
