(WCTV) - The Florida Department of Environmental Protection has officially denied a permit request from Clearwater Land and Materials “to drill an exploratory oil well” in Calhoun County, according to recent court records. On Tuesday, WCTV obtained a 127-page court record filed Monday by the FDEP, revealing that they agreed with a judge’s recommendation in April to deny the permit.

In a , Tallahassee Utilities confirmed they will follow the new law and will stop adding fluoride to water by July 1. “The Florida Department of Health now recommends against community water fluoridation, and in spring 2025, the Florida Legislature passed Senate Bill 700 (SB700), which bans the addition of fluoride in public water systems.
