CADDO PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – By fall of 2025, there should be fewer traffic back-ups along I-49 southbound in south Caddo Parish. That’s the goal of a $1.5 million dollar project by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD). The project to improve traffic flow and safety at the interchange with Southern Loop began on Thursday, April 10th. The project involves constructing a second southbound exit lane, next to the current lane.

MINDEN, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Webster Parish Sheriff’s deputies quickly captured a Springhill woman who escaped from jail on April 9, 2025. Sheriff Jason Parker said 19-year-old Kaylee Jones enjoyed less than 15 minutes of freedom after leaving the fourth-floor jail at the Webster Parish courthouse around 11:30 a.m.Springhill police officers initially arrested Jones on April 4, 2025, for possession of methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia. She was being held on a $2,500 bond.
