    (KNSI) – The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting the St. Cloud Police Department in an investigation following an officer-involved shooting. According to a press release, officers were called to a home on the 600 block of 8th Avenue North around 3:45 Friday afternoon for a domestic dispute. The woman told officers that a man she knew from a previous relationship was threatening her and came at her with his fists like he was going to hit her.

    (KNSI) – The Catholic Community School system in St. Cloud is cutting ties with St. Mary Help of Christians School in St. Augusta. According to a letter from Catholic Community Schools President David Fremo, CCS announced on April 7th that the school would be closed due to rising operational costs and declining enrollment. In the wake of that announcement, parents and parishioners asked for time to develop a long-range plan to try and continue operations.

    (KNSI) – St. Cloud Police have a person of interest and are looking for more victims after a rash of reports of indecent exposure over the last year. Investigators say between June of 2024 and today, they’ve taken multiple reports of women being outside walking, running, or standing being targeted. The suspect gets their attention by waving the victim over to a vehicle. He then exposes himself while performing a lewd act in his car.

    (KNSI) — The St. Cloud Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on a proposal to build low-income apartments on the former YMCA site. The former Y was torn down in 2017 after the new facility was built across the street. Originally, there were plans to build a grocery store on the site, but the project never panned out.

    (KNSI) – The group behind building an attraction around a mock spaceship in St. Cloud has formed a nonprofit to help it land a piece of property. Inspiration Space Port started last year after St. Cloud Inventor Felicity-John Pederson had the replica shuttle moved from Florida to St. Cloud with plans to use it as part of a museum. The 25-ton mock-up is now control of the 501c3 ISP.EARTH.
