Memphis basketball will take part in the Baha Mar Hoops Championship during the 2025-26 season, according to college basketball insider Jeff Goodman. The multi-team event is set for Nov. 20-21 at the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar in Nassau, Bahamas. Other teams reportedly in the four-team field include Purdue and Wake Forest, Goodman reported May 5. Each participant is guaranteed two games. Specific matchups and scheduling information is expected to be released at a later date.

Memphis basketball has welcomed a commitment from UTRGV wing Hasan Abdul Hakim, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to The Commercial Appeal on May 2. The source requested anonymity since a formal announcement has not yet been made. CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz reported May 2 that Abdul Hakim has officially signed with Memphis. The 6-foot-8 Abdul Hakim becomes the 10th player Tigers coach Penny Hardaway has added since the 2024-25 season ended in March.

Haggerty was one of 75 players to receive an invitation to the combine, the NBA announced May 2, which will be held May 11-18 at Wintrust Arena and the Marriott Marquis in Chicago. The 6-foot-3 combo guard was a star for the Tigers in 2024-25, helping the program to its first AAC regular-season championship and its second AAC tournament title, as well as a No. 5 seed in the NCAA tournament. He averaged 21.8 points and 5.7 rebounds per game en route to the AAC Player of the Year award.
