Memphis basketball's Academic Progress Rate (APR) score dropped in the 2023-24 season, according to data released by the NCAA. Penny Hardaway's team scored an 844 in single-year APR rate compared to a perfect 1,000 in both the 2021-22 and 2022-23 academic years. The Tigers have a four-year APR rate of 954, down from 988 a year ago. Teams that score below 930 in multi-year rate face escalating sanctions that start with practice reductions and can eventually include postseason bans.

Dresser Winn broke his ankle in 2021. It changed his football career β for the better. Winn spent months rehabbing the injury at UT Martin, and the Skyhawks' quarterback had to wear a walking boot. He could still throw, but he had to completely change his mechanics because of the boot and because he couldn't put weight on the ankle.

"I think it's kind of a slight, and something I'll carry with me throughout my career, my NFL career," Henigan told The Commercial Appeal on May 4. "Hopefully my extensive and long NFL career. Definitely when I go into games I'll remember that and remember that feeling.
