ABINGDON, Va. (WJHL) – Michael Small’s last known whereabouts was on March 24 in Abingdon on Charwood Drive. His daughter, Kerry Small, is asking anyone with information to please contact law enforcement so her father can be found. The Abingdon Police Department, the Washington County Virginia Sheriff’s Office, the Virginia State Police, the Abingdon Fire Department, the Virginia Department of Social Services and multiple other agencies are assisting in the search for Michael Small.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) – Grace Fellowship Church hosted its annual Joy Prom event, where people with disabilities along with their families and caregivers are invited to a night of fun and fellowship. Amanda Brown, Grace Fellowship’s Local Outreach Coordinator, said the church has hosted this event since 2011. This year, around 400 guests signed up. “And then they bring family members and caregivers with them, so that totals up around 800, 900 folks,” Brown said.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Citizens had the opportunity to speak about the Jane Doe lawsuit settlement during Thursday evening’s Johnson City Commission meeting. The lawsuit was filed by women who claim to be sexual assault victims of convicted child predator Sean Williams. It claims the Johnson City Police Department did not fully investigate Williams, who is accused of drugging and raping dozens of women between 2018 and 2021.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) – Trey Spence, the owner of the Diamond Exchange of Johnson City, said they’ve been buying more gold and silver than usual because of record prices. On Wednesday, President Donald Trump’s imposed tariffs on certain imported products sparked trade tensions. “I believe silver is around $33, $34 an ounce, and gold is around $3,100 an ounce, which is record territory for both of those,” Spence said.
