A man was critically injured when he was hit by a vehicle on the North Side on Monday, Madison police reported. Officers were sent to the area of Kennedy Road and Northport Drive around 5:25 p.m. on reports of the pedestrian being hit, police spokesperson officer Stephanie Fryer said in a statement. The 48-year-old man was taken by ambulance to a local hospital in critical condition. A large crowd gathered following the crash. The driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with police.

One person was hospitalized after a sprinkler system extinguished a fire at a senior apartment building on the Far East Side on Wednesday night, authorities reported. The fire in the 600 block of Jupiter Drive was reported at 10:22 p.m. by residents and a water flow alarm and fire crews arrived at 10:31 p.m. to find the sprinkler had extinguished the fire in the kitchen of an apartment, Madison Fire Department spokesperson Amy Lampe said in a statement.

A bicyclist was taken to a hospital after colliding with a vehicle on the South Side on Tuesday, Madison police reported. Officers sent to the crash in the 2000 block of Waunona Way around 10:35 a.m. determined that a driver was stopped at the Hoboken Road and Waunona Way intersection when he edged forward to see around a line of parked construction vehicles on Waunona Way, police spokesperson officer Stephanie Fryer said in a statement.

A motorcyclist died in a crash into the rear of a piece of farm machinery on a Grant County highway on Tuesday night, authorities reported. The crash was reported about 9 p.m. on Highway 133 near Taylor Road in the town of Muscoda, Grant County Sheriff Craig Reukauf said in a statement.
