The Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s Division of Motor Vehicles said Wednesday it revoked the dealer licenses or wholesale dealer licenses from 35 Wisconsin dealers for illegal activities. The illegal activities included selling directly to consumers, failing to maintain a dealer bond and other infractions.

A dryer fire on Tuesday morning displaced a person from a West Side home, authorities reported. Fire crews were sent at 7:46 a.m. to the 900 block of Mohican Pass on a report of a dryer smoking in the basement and arrived at 7:51 a.m. to find smoke showing from the roof line and entry door, Madison Fire Department spokesperson Cynthia Schuster said in a statement.

A driver was taken to a local hospital after running a red light and causing a crash on the Near West Side on Sunday morning, Madison police reported. At about 8:20 a.m., officers sent to a report of a rollover crash determined that a driver was heading south on Park Street at Johnson Street when he did not stop for a red light and struck another vehicle, spokesperson officer Anthony Vogel said in a statement. The driver’s vehicle rolled over and he was taken to University Hospital for evaluation.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Division of Motor Vehicles on Wednesday said it revoked the dealer license or wholesale dealer license from 35 state dealers for illegal activities. The illegal activities included selling directly to consumers, failing to maintain a dealer bond and other infractions. The process featured investigations by DMV’s Dealer and Agents Section, hearings in March, and a 30-day appeal period, with most of the license revocations finalized on April 5 or 6.
