    A Kent man was reported in stable condition April 22 after his car was destroyed in a single-vehicle crash on State Route 14 in Streetsboro the evening before. Police Lt. Rich Polivka said that Streetsboro EMS took the 26-year-old driver to UH Portage Medical Center, and he was later transferred to Summa Akron City Hospital. Police and EMS responded to the scene of the crash after receiving calls at around 5:20 p.m. April 21.

    A Ravenna man has admitted sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl last year. Emilio Joseph Lee Dial, 22, pleaded guilty Monday in Portage County Common Pleas Court to charges of rape and attempted rape, according to the Portage County Prosecutor's Office. Judge Becky Doherty ordered the court's adult probation office to conduct a presentencing investigation. According to a Ravenna police report, officers responded Aug. 3 to University Hospitals Portage Medical Center.

    A Streetsboro man is accused of seriously injuring an elderly woman Sunday while trying to kill her at his home. Richard Craig McNeal, 57, is charged with first-degree felony attempted murder, according to Portage County Municipal Court records. Streetsboro EMS responded to McNeal's Leslie Avenue home after he called to report a woman had fallen down the stairs and needed an ambulance at 1:26 p.m. Sunday, Police Chief Tricia Wain said in an email Monday to the Record-Courier.
