The funeral for a 9-year-old Ravenna girl who died May 7 after what her family describes as an "accident" will be May 23 in Akron. Newcomer Funeral Home, which is handling arrangements, on May 14 posted Xandria Mancuso's obituary on its website. The 9-year-old was a fourth grader at West Main Elementary School in Ravenna.

Norfolk Southern will close Prospect Street at the railroad overpass because of falling debris. The closure begins May 13 and will continue through May 15. The road will reopen for the weekend and then close again May 19 through May 21. While the road is in Ravenna Township, it connects Rootstown and Ravenna.

Xandria Leanne Mancuso, a fourth grader at West Main Elementary School in Ravenna, died May 7 at Akron Children's Hospital in Akron. An investigator in the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office said the cause of death is listed as "pending" and that the Portage County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
