    2 1/2 A barrister who has been appointed a Circuit Judge has shared the moving and inspirational story of his family’s arrival here from Pakistan and his climb up the legal ladder during the more than 50 years he has lived in the city. Tahir Khan KC, who has frequently sat as a Recorder at Bradford Crown Court, has been deployed to the North Eastern Circuit and will be based at Leeds Combined Court Centre.

    2 1/1 A teenager who was on trial for attempting to murder a schoolboy following a stabbing in a Bradford park has this morning pleaded guilty to charges of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and possessing a knife in a public place. The 16-year-old, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, went on trial last Monday after his victim was stabbed in the chest during a disturbance in Grosvenor Park, Lumb Lane, in March this year.

    A MAN caught trafficking 57 kilos of cocaine in the Bradford area was warned to expect ‘a very significant sentence of imprisonment.’  Garry Sinclair, 37, of no fixed address, appeared at Bradford Crown Court for sentence for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. His case was adjourned until November 17 when he will either be sentenced or a trial of the issue to determine his role in the drugs operation will be fixed.

    Nelson (Image: West Yorkshire Police) A 34-YEAR-OLD man who burgled a house in Baildon and drove dangerously two weeks later has been jailed for almost three years. Edward Nelson, of Beacon Road, Wibsey, Bradford, appeared before a judge at the city’s crown court on Thursday and was locked up for a total of 34 months after he admitted house burglary, handling a stolen car, dangerous driving and driving without insurance.

    2 1/1 A BOY of 15 was critically injured with his heart close to stopping after he was stabbed in the chest in a Bradford park, a jury heard today. Dr Michael Parsons, a forensic pathologist, said the teenager had sustained a wound to his right side produced by a sharp object wielded in a thrusting motion. He told Bradford Crown Court he had a specialist interest in the mechanism by which injuries were caused and their impact on the human body.
