ROCHESTER, Minn. - The Rochester Police Department is investigating an early morning break-in at a southeast restaurant. Officers responded to Whistle Binkies on Woodlake Drive shortly after 2 a.m. on Wednesday. When police arrived on scene the front door was open, which upon closer inspection, appeared to have been tampered with, according to the department. While the ATM in the entryway of Whistle Binkies was broken, the burglars weren't able to access any money.

Nashua, IA (KIMT) - A boil water advisory has been issued for the next 48 hours in the northeastern Iowa town of Nashua. In a post on social media, the city cites a loss of pressure from recent water line repair work as the reason for the order. The advisory is in place as a precaution according to city staff. If you have any questions you're asked to call city hall at (641) 435-4156.

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KIMT) - A driver is being treated for minor injuries after she crashed her car into a northwest Rochester home, Wednesday afternoon. Rochester police responded to a crash report at a house on Longboat Road, across from Walmart North on 55th St., around 4:20 p.m.The homeowner told KIMT News 3 crews on the scene that nobody was inside when the driver hit and damaged a brick wall. The driver, a 61-year-old woman, has been taken to the hospital for treatment.

ROCHESTER, Minn. - The chief of Rochester Fire Department is getting ready to step down later this week after nearly 30 years of serving the community. Last year Chief Eric Kerska announced plans to retire in January. The city of Rochester says he will officially step aside this Friday, Jan. 17. Kerska has been RFD's chief since 2018 although he's been with the department since 1994.

ROCHESTER, Minn. - Police say a man is in custody for intentionally setting fire to an apartment building that displaced 20 tenants in southeast Rochester. On January 6, just before 5 a.m., crews responded to the Falcon Landing Apartments at 16th Avenue SE where smoke and fire could be seen coming from the second floor of the building. Since the blaze, an investigation into the cause has been underway. RPD says 46-year-old Richard Dalton is now facing a felony arson charge for starting the fire.
