St. Peter, MN ( KROC-AM News) - A man who escaped from the Minnesota Sex Offender Program at the St. Peter State Security Hospital was on the loose for approximately 5 1/2 hours before he was captured this morning. The St. Peter Police Department says it was notified of the escape around 1:30 AM. It was reported that 45-year-old Beau-Jacob Zimmer somehow managed to get out of the secure facility and left on a bicycle. St. Peter police indicated he was in possession of a kitchen knife.

Rochester, MN ( KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man is scheduled to be sentenced next month for physically bullying a vulnerable man in order to gain access to his bank account. According Olmsted County Court records, charges were filed last November against 20-year-old Bill Gum Benjamin after the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office launched an investigation earlier last fall after receiving a report of a theft. A woman told investigators that Benjamin had been forcing her son to give him money.

Sleepy Eye, MN ( KROC-AM News) - Six people, including four children, were injured in a house fire in southern Minnesota this morning. The Brown County Sheriff's Office says firefighters and other emergency responders were dispatched to the home in Sleepy Eye around 7 AM and found the structure fully engulfed in flames when they arrived at the scene. One person was still inside the burning home and was rescued by members of the Sleepy Eye Fire Department.
