KROC-AM (Rochester, MN)

KROC (1340 AM) is a news and talk radio station based in Rochester, Minnesota. It was established in 1934 by Gregory Gentling, who founded the Southern Minnesota Broadcasting Company. The station began broadcasting on September 30, 1935. Gentling was also notable for co-founding the Wm McCoy American Legion Post in 1919, creating Soldier's Field Park in 1926, co-owning The Rochester Daily Bulletin, organizing a visit from President Franklin D. Roosevelt to Rochester in 1934, and managing various political campaigns in the 1920s, including those for Allen Furlow and Arthur E. Nelson. Today, KROC features a mix of nationally syndicated talk shows along with programs hosted by local personalities.

St. Cloud Police were dispatched to an incident where a man said he was threatened with a box cutter. According to the charges, the man said he was driving on 25th Avenue just after 5:00 a.m. and was stopped at a red light to turn onto Highway 23. When the light turned green, he said a man on a scooter went through the red light, forcing him to brake suddenly.

    ST. CLOUD (WJON News) -- A Holdingford man charged with murder involving the fatal overdose of another man has pleaded guilty. In a court appearance Wednesday, 32-year-old Cody Johannes pleaded guilty to one count of 3rd-degree murder. According to the criminal complaint filed in Stearns County District Court, Johannes sold the victim methamphetamine and fentanyl on November 17, 2024. The victim's body was found two days later after his brother called St. Cloud Police for a welfare check.
