Police in Southend last summer after the violent disorder on the seafront (Image: Essex Police) NINE teenagers have admitted their roles in violent disorder on Southend seafront last summer ahead of standing trial. On July 30 last year, police flooded the seafront within minutes of reports of people with weapons, swiftly arresting nine men and boys aged between 14 and 18.

Dispersal order launched as weapon found after fight in Southend city centre (Image: Essex Police) A dispersal order has been put in place covering parts of Southend this evening following a brawl in the city centre. Officers were on the scene within one minute of reports of a group involved in a fight in Queens Road, Southend, at around 5.30pm today. Thankfully no injuries were suffered and police recovered a bladed weapon. Essex Police inquiries are ongoing.
