    TYLER, Texas — It's time to make some noise, Tyler! Just in time for the first weekend of summer. The streets of Tyler will be filled with tunes at every corner all day long in the Make Music Day event. The organization said over 100 performers will serenade East Texans in parks, neighborhoods and businesses. This is part of a worldwide event called Make Music Day, which was founded in France in 1982. Over 2,000 cities in over a dozen countries around the world will celebrate music.

    TYLER, Texas — The Texas African American Museum hosted its fourth annual Juneteenth festival Thursday afternoon. Dozens of people showed out for today’s event with music, fun and even some trivia. There were even some awards handed out Thursday. "We had presentations for former students and faculty of Dogan Middle School. And also for Butler College which was an African American college here in Tyler from 1910-1972," said Denise Pendleton, TAAM volunteer.

The Texas Education Agency released the 2025 STAAR test results Tuesday morning for grades 3-8. This includes tests in reading language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. The state agency said reading language arts scores surpassed pre-pandemic levels across nearly all grade levels.

    LONGVIEW, Texas — School is out for the summer but construction is in session at Longview ISD. District leaders say they've saved $28 million in budget savings on work under contract. The 2024 $456 million bond should be complete in two to three years. "Every dollar saved goes right back into the program to help us do more for our kids and our community," Chief Financial Officer Dr. Wayne Guidry said.
