SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — There is a possibility for strong to severe storms through Sunday across northern Utah, including the Wasatch Front, Nevada and Idaho. The Storm Prediction Center placed the Wasatch Front under a marginal risk for severe weather. The western edge of northern Utah into Nevada is under a slight risk for severe weather. Rain totals could amount to over an inch or more in the Salt Lake Valley and areas north of it.

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — High pressure continues to build into Utah for the second half of the weekend, with the state breaking its daily record with 106 degrees. More records are expected to be broken Sunday. In Salt Lake City, temperatures could hit 107 degrees, tying the all-time hottest recorded temperature of the city. The city has experienced this extreme heat five times in its history, two of which occurred last year in July and September.
