HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - It was a given that WVU baseball was heading to the NCAA Tournament and it was just a matter of where, when and who they are playing. The team found out at 12:31 Monday afternoon. They’ll be heading to the Clemson regional and will play Kentucky Friday May 30th. Other teams in the region are host team Clemson and South Carolina Upstate. WVU goes into the game with a 41-14 record while the Cats are 29-24. Copyright 2025 WSAZ. All rights reserved.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - There are major changes coming to the West Virginia boys state baseball tournament. The WVSSAC announced Wednesday afternoon that the Board of Directors approved the expansion of the tournament and the number of teams are jumping from four to eight in each class beginning next year. The Baseball Coaches Advisory Committee recommended the move and a survey of member schools voted 86-4 in favor of it.
