From Mendocino CollegeMendocino College is pleased to announce the purchase of a property at the corner of Perkins and Main Streets in downtown Ukiah, marking the first phase of a multi-year initiative to develop future student housing. This project aims to increase the availability of affordable housing for students and support the local community. The acquisition of this property is made possible through the generous support from the Mendocino College Foundation and its dedicated donors.

The 42nd annual Lake County Outdoor Passion Play is drawing near: May 17 and 18. The first meeting for the cast of the Passion Play will be on Sunday, March 2, at 4 p.m.at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Hall, 801 N. Main, in Lakeport. This is our annual potluck dinner, so bring your favorite dish to share (salad, main or side dish or dessert).

Deep Valley Arts invites youth aged 18 and under to submit artwork to their upcoming fourth annual youth group exhibition at Medium Art Gallery on display in March. Artists aged 18 and under are invited to create a piece of artwork of their choosing. Get creative, get messy, and make some art! All mediums will be considered. Pieces chosen for in-person display at Medium Art Gallery in Ukiah have the option to be listed for sale with no commission fee.

Tickets are still available for this weekend’s Empty Bowls fundraiser, with 100 percent of the funds raised going to support the local Meals-on-Wheels program and Plowshares Community Dining Room in Ukiah. Empty Bowls is a favorite fundraiser for area residents, and will be hosted by Plowshares Community Dining Center on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 4 to 6:30 p.m., at 1346 S. State St. in Ukiah. It is once again an “Empty Bowls on Wheels” Drive-Thru Dinner.
