MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Mid-South is mourning the passing of a game show icon. Wink Martindale, who broke into the broadcasting business in his native Mid-South, died Tuesday at his home in Rancho Mirage, California. He was 91 years old. Martindale started as a disc jockey by age 17 in his hometown of Jackson, Tennessee, but moved to Memphis, where he worked as a DJ for WHBQ Radio.
