MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Christian Brother who made what is now Christian Brothers High School, the first integrated high school in Memphis, died on Sunday, May 25, at age 102. Brother Terence McLaughlin, FSC, began his marathon of love and service in Memphis in the early 1960s as the new leader of “CBC,” as it was then known—a combined campus of Christian Brothers College and High School at East Parkway and Central Avenue.

For Henry, now 60, and his dogs Kaki and Whopper, it was home. “I did have an apartment, but I couldn’t afford it; it was hard paying the bills,” Henry said through an interpreter for Bridges West, an agency that serves the deaf and hearing impaired.
