A group led by Bain Capital’s special-situations arm is in talks to invest as much as $2 billion in insurance broker Acrisure, according to people with knowledge of the matter. The new investment is set to take the form of preferred equity, said the people, who asked not to be identified discussing confidential information.

Food and animal safety products manufacturer Neogen Corp. has inked a deal to divest its global cleaners and disinfectants business for $130 million in cash. Lansing-based Neogen expects the sale of the business to Dinard, France-based Kersia Group to close in the first quarter of Neogen’s 2026 fiscal year, which begins on Oct. 1, pending regulatory approvals and closing conditions. The cash sale also includes a contingent consideration based on the future performance of the business.

Stock prices for metro Detroit's publicly traded companies fell Thursday, erasing billions in paper value a day after President Donald Trump imposed sweeping tariffs on the United States’ global trading partners. All but three local public companies saw stock declines. The only gainers were DTE Energy Co. and CMS Energy Co., utilities that are a traditional "flight to safety" stock pick. The other was manufactured-home park operator Sun Communities Inc.
