The intel is sparse. If that’s not the case this time of the year, then it’s probably a lie, floated out there by an exec trying to hide the footprints. But as adept as Bulls executive vice president Arturas Karnisovas is at ripping a branch off a tree and dusting away his trail, leaks happen. The Sun-Times reported last week that there are two absolutes with this draft class and the No. 12 overall pick held by the Bulls. One is they don’t care about position.

The Chicago Bulls hold the No. 12 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. Picking near the end of the lottery leaves Chicago with a lot options, but they Bulls are seemingly focusing in on drafting Egor Demin of BYU. Some outlets consider Demin to be a top 10 selection in the draft. Others have him available when the Bulls pick. Chicago is said to be focused on drafting a wing or big with their first-round pick. The 6-foot-8 ballhandler had an up-and-down season at BYU.

Matas Buzelis knew Rookie of the Year honors were out of reach by the end of the regular season. All-Rookie Team, however? The Bulls rook wasn’t shy about putting an individual achievement in the trophy case. “Any type of award in the NBA, I’d like,” Buzelis said very matter-of-factly last month. “Yeah, I think I belong on that All-Rookie team, for sure. It would be an honor to grab something like that.”Honor grabbed.

Player A was a dud. In one 16-game stretch in November, it got so bad that he wasn’t even finishing games for the Bulls because of his defensive letdowns. And his offense wasn’t much better; he was averaging 10.6 points and shooting 29.1% from three-point range. Player B was a godsend. After the All-Star break, he averaged 21.2 points, 10.7 rebounds and 9.3 assists, improved his defense and shot 45.7% from long range. So which Bull should get the big, fat contract extension this summer?

That’s actually a great question. Both took a lot of unfair blame. … I’d say Boozer because his teams got further. Who’s a better human … no contest. Boozer = bad guy!

@JCowleyHoops @cbefred Joe I’m not about insults referring to private parts but who was a better bull? Carlos Boozer or Nikola Vucevic?
