Arturas Karnisovas has been adamant in sticking to his plan and building around players that fit the Bulls’ new up-tempo style of play. Position or size be damned. That was the mentality going into the first round of Wednesday’s NBA Draft, and when the team’s No. 12 overall pick came around that was the mentality that won out, as the Bulls selected athletic forward Noa Essengue.

The Chicago Bulls are motivated to trade Patrick Williams this offseason after signing him to a five-year, $90 million contract during the 2024 offseason. The Bulls have tried most of their developmental staff on Williams only to see no real improvement. Williams averaged 9.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 25.0 minutes across 63 games last season for the Bulls. Williams, who is represented by Thaddeus Foucher and Joe Smith, also has a player option for the 2028-29 season.

The rumors are churning. And in what could be one of the craziest offseasons the NBA has seen in years, the Bulls are right there, smack dab in the floating debris.

How close was Cooper Flagg to being a Bull? A half-court prayer by Josh Giddey against the Lakers, an unnecessary 20-point victory against the tanking 76ers in the regular-season finale or two comebacks from 20-point deficits from way back in October. Pick only one. If any one of those games had gone the other way, the first round of the NBA Draft on Wednesday would be a coronation in Chicago rather than a game of chance. That’s the price of ‘‘competitive integrity’’ in the NBA these days.

Arturas Karnisovas and Marc Eversley have agreed to contract extensions with the Chicago Bulls. Karnisovas was hired to run the Bulls' front office in 2020 to replace Gar Forman. Eversley soon joined Karnisovas as general manager. The Bulls have reached the playoffs in one season during their tenure when they lost in the first round in 2022 to the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bulls have been in the play-in each of the past three seasons.

Shoutout to @Drew_H_Stevens on his reporting on this.

On the heels of reports that the Bulls and Billy Donovan have begun contract negotiations, Artūras Karnišovas and Marc Eversley have already had their deals extended, a source told @itsthebigs on Tuesday.

Very little has been accurately reported about the Tom Thibodeau firing. Good thing for the Knicks because it would uncover just how dysfunctional the organization is.
