An alleged gunman has been arrested and charged with robbing and shooting a 22-year-old man who was meeting up with a group to purchase vape pens in a Zion parking lot. A family is remembering an 85-year-old Lakemoor woman for her “creativity, kindness and a deep love” ahead of her funeral after she died following a crash on Route 120 in Lakemoor. Battalion Chief Jason Daun of the Wauconda Fire Protection District said firefighters were called to the intersection of Route 120 and Sullivan Lake Road in Lakemoor for a two-vehicle crash around 9:20 a.m. on May 24. Daun said fire crews arrived to find two vehicles involved following a T-bone crash.

A fast-moving storm system moved through western McHenry County early Tuesday afternoon, resulting in several emergency responses for downed trees and power lines. The Harvard Fire Protection District responded around 1:33 p.m. Tuesday to the 600 block of Dewey Street for a large tree that had fallen onto a home. Harvard Fire Protection District Public Information Officer Alex Vucha said the tree brought power lines down into the roadway.

A judge has again delayed the trial in the eviction of the Trump and Truth Store in Huntley, which came after the shop was cited by the village for several ordinance violations. A status of attorney hearing and motion hearing were held on May 20 in front of McHenry County Judge Suzanne Mangiamele. The judge allowed a motion to delay the trial to June 25. The trial was originally set for May 8 and later pushed to June 11.

Prosecutors say a convicted felon was found with a loaded gun after he led police responding to a call of a person shot on a pursuit that ended in a crash in Waukegan. The Waukegan Police Department responded around 12:10 a.m. on May 6 to the 1000 block of Hickory Avenue for a report of a person shot. Waukegan Deputy Police Chief Scott Chastain said that officers arrived and confirmed no one was shot.
