New venue, same legacy as Bookclub opens new concert space in old Elbo Room building Every week, bands play in venues across Chicago, but a new concert space in Lakeview is different than most. Bookclub is proudly Black-, queer- and woman-owned. "It is not a traditional stage shape. By Joe DonlonClick here for updates on this story CHICAGO (WBBM) — For more than 25 years, Working Bikes has helped keep tens of thousands of bicycles out of landfills and get them into the hands of people who need them — whether right in Chicago, or thousands of miles away. But that’s not all the team at Working Bikes does. They are also creating economic lifelines for generations. Trevor Clark took CBS News Chicago through the basement of Working Bikes’ headquarters, at 2434 S. Western Ave.

"The space is designed for anyone that wants to come in, even if you're not buying a cup of coffee. If you want to rest, read a book, it's great," she said.

Lollapalooza is an essential part of summer in Chicago, and a new book has created a record of the oral history of one of the city's most defining festivals. "Lollapalooza: The Uncensored Story of Alternative Rock's Wildest Festival" is comprised mostly of quotes from the original rock stars, promoters and roadies who made and continue to make the music festival a cultural phenomenon. "In telling the story of Lola, you're telling the story of a cultural movement," said co-author Richard Bienstock.
