Leeds United could be rivalled by another Premier League club in their bid to land Slovenian international defender Jaka Bijol, according to reports. It was previously reported by the YEP that Udinese were willing to accept £17 million for the 6ft 4in centre-back, however, it now appears Newcastle United could hijack the deal. Bijol is said to have agreed personal terms on a proposed four-year contract at Elland Road, although Leeds and Udinese are not yet at a stage where a fee had been agreed.

Leeds United announced the signing of 26-year-old German international Lukas Nmecha on Sunday afternoon. The former Anderlecht and Manchester City striker has signed an initial two-year deal with the Whites after an injury-hit time at VfL Wolfsburg in Germany. Nmecha will officially become a Leeds player on July 1 once his Wolfsburg deal expires, joining United on a free transfer.

The veteran will play Premier League football for the 24th consecutive season during 2025/26 after agreeing a one-year extension with the Seagulls. Milner has represented boyhood club Leeds, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Manchester City, Liverpool and Brighton throughout his top flight stay, after making his debut as a teenager whilst on the books at Elland Road.
