Graceland is launching a "Private Presley" tour focusing on Elvis Presley's military service. The tour will run from May 23-26 and feature stories and artifacts related to Elvis' time in the Army. Elvis Presley spent two years in the Army. He was inducted on March 24, 1958, and he was discharged from active duty on March 5, 1960. He did not record any new music or make any movies while in the Army. Yet those two years of service loom large in the Elvis legend.
