SEYMOUR (NBC 26) — The (20-3, 17-1) Seymour baseball team won their first conference crown in 20 years last year, but they lost in the second round of the playoffs. But they’ve really used that as fuel for the fire ever since. A lot of the guys on the team went on to win the Legion title and now they won their second Bay Conference crown in a row. “This group has left a mark not just in baseball, but on our school,” said Thunder head coach Curt Jefson.

OSHKOSH — It’s been a surreal season for the (34-14, 20-8) UW-Oshkosh baseball team. They’re making their first NCAA tournament appearance since 2018, and after taking down the regional championship in Minnesota this past weekend, they find themselves just a few wins away from the College World Series. “We’re on the verge of having an unbelievable season when nobody expected us to really be that good," said Titans head coach Kevin Tomasiewicz.

KAUKAUNA — Mike Schalow, as the Kaukauna boys basketball coach, has had a legendary career—one that spanned over four decades and a total of 30 years where he led the team to two state titles. But on Wednesday morning, in the team room, he had a very difficult conversation with his squad, telling them that he’s retiring. “It’s been a real challenge because it hasn’t been a job; it’s been a lifestyle," Schalow said.

GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — Entering his second year as UW-Green Bay's head coach, Doug Gottlieb has made an intriguing addition: a nearly 7-foot tall, 28-year-old who just might have the most interesting journey in NCAA Division 1 basketball. They're hoping he can help improve a team that went just 4-28 last season. “First you’re going to get defense,” Bethea said of what he brings to the Phoenix. “I’m a shot blocker. I want all the blocks. I try to contest everything.

HORTONVILLE (NBC 26) — The Hortonville high school boys and girls powerlifting teams shined at IDFPA World Championships in Massachusetts this past weekend, as both teams took home second place. Senior Reggie Kloehn shined in his final high school meet, taking home a world championship. “To put us on the spot, to put us out there, to put us at No. 2 in the world, it’s amazing,” Kloehn said of his team’s accomplishment.

Congrats @BellachCaleb! This is amazing!

The Manhattan School Board on Monday night approved Caleb Bellach as the new head boys basketball coach at the high school. Bellach was a standout player at nearby Manhattan Christian and played college ball at Montana State University before finishing at Montana Tech.

That's rough for Minnesota
