SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ – The Scotch Plains-Fanwood 4x400 relay team of Justin Timchak, Max Handler, Justice Larkin, and Blake Jackson have been named Joint Motion Physical Therapy Athletes of the Week. The boys won gold at the 2025 Union County Championships on Friday, May 9, running a 3:24.23 in the Boys 4x400 Meter Relay. “It was a big win for us and one of our goals for the meet,” said SPF track head coach Jeffrey Koegel.

FANWOOD, NJ – The Fanwood Memorial Library’s “What the Holocaust Taught Us: Save One Life, Save the World” series continues on Thursday, May 15 at 7:00 p.m. when the Library welcomes author Joanna Sliwa as she discusses her book, “The Counterfeit Countess: The Jewish woman who saved thousands of Poles during the Holocaust.” The series is funded through a New Jersey Council for the Humanities grant.

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ – The JCC of Central NJ, located at 1391 Martine Ave. in Scotch Plains, will host the "Hate Ends Now" exhibit on Thursday, May 15, educating audiences about the Holocaust and the dangers of antisemitism, intolerance and racism. The exhibit will be housed inside an exact replica of a World War II-era cattle car, just like ones used to transport Jews and other targeted groups to concentration camps during the Holocaust.
