NEW YORK (PIX11) — Record high pollen counts have already been reported down south and they are now about to explode in our area. Tree pollen is the earliest offender of the hay fever season. Experts recommend reducing your time outside to lessen the amount of allergens you inhale. Also, keep car and house windows closed. During peak pollen counts, it’s better to use air conditioning, just make sure the filters are clean.

YONKERS, N.Y. (PIX11) — A large boulder rolled into and crushed a family-owned business that’s been around for generations in Yonkers. Fire officials said wet weather played a part in the boulder rolling down a steep hill and into Peterson Tool Rental on Saw Mill River Road. It came down sometime in the overnight hours of Sunday into Monday when the business was empty. The lucky timing was not lost on fellow business owners and residents in the area. Amazingly, no one was injured.

NEW YORK (PIX11) — Three hero rescuers from the NYPD reunited with the four-legged cutie whose life they had saved on Sunday. The Maltese pup nicknamed Hudson was plucked from the frigid and choppy waters of the East River near South Street Seaport. The NYPD Harbor Unit jumped to action after receiving a 911 call. After pulling the dog to safety, they wrapped her in a warm blanket. Hudson is fully recovered and thriving. For now, she’s staying at a city shelter in East Harlem.
