Murphy Memorial Veterans Hospital on April 7 in what his father believes was an outcry against the Department of Veterans Affairs and its mental health care system. Mark Miller, 53, a retired Special Forces sniper who served in the U.S. Navy for 15 years, sent a text message to his father, Dr. Larry Miller, just moments before he took his own life. Larry Miller said he responded immediately to his son.

    BEXAR COUNTY – Nearly a year after 17-year-old Landyn Reyes was shot and killed at a party, his mother said she is still searching for answers and justice. Reyes was just weeks away from his 18th birthday when he was fatally shot on August 4, 2024, at a party held inside a vacant, for-sale home. Reyes was found dead in the backyard of the house with a gunshot wound in West Be, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said.

Nicholas Pinkerton, founder of the Warriors Remembrance Foundation, is leading a volunteer effort to clean and maintain veterans’ graves across several cemeteries. On Saturday, Pinkerton and his team of volunteers spent hours at the historical Fischer Cemetery in Comal County, cleaning over 60 gravesites.
