ExposuresThe primary exposure was socioeconomic deprivation which was measured by proxy. In England, deprivation was measured using quintiles of the patient-level Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) 2019.23 IMD is a lower super output area level (comprising 400 to 1200 people) which is a measure of relative deprivation based on a person’s postcode. The IMD score is based on indicators related to income, education, employment, health, crime, barriers to housing and services and living environment.

This study aimed to quantify current trends of programming code sharing in pharmacoepidemiology research and provide recommendations on this topic. Out of 968 eligible “Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety” articles between 2017 and 2022, 4.8% (N = 46) shared programming code. Code sharing increased from 1.8% in 2017 to 9.5% in 2022, with higher prevalence in methodological and simulation studies.
