The Voter Education and Outreach Team is a nonpartisan group seeking to provide election information to enhance voters’ experiences, said LaShandra Little, Fulton County voter education and outreach manager. The team demonstrates electronic voting equipment, provides information for working at the polls and issues free Georgia Voter Identification cards.

ALPHARETTA, Ga. — The Alpharetta City Council revived its relationship with the North Atlanta Football League months after the city objected to the makeup of the organization’s leadership board. At a May 5 meeting, council members unanimously approved a contract with the league to provide tackle and flag football and cheerleading activities for kindergarten through fifth-grade youth. “I’m just glad we got this worked out,” Councilman Brian Will said.

At 90 years old, the energetic but soft-spoken Forsyth County resident still works, volunteers at his local church and helps neighbors when he can. He also regularly donates blood, a routine he has maintained for the past 65 years. “God did not intend for me to waste my good health on myself,” Epp said.

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Residents along one of Forsyth County’s few remaining gravel roads say they are concerned about traffic impacts from a planned subdivision and highway exit. Ann Garvin, a resident who has lived on Tidwell Road since 1990, said a near 1-mile portion of the road has remained unpaved since she began living there. She said she is worried the creation of a subdivision and opening of a Ga. 400 exit at McGinnis Ferry Road could bring dangerous traffic.

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. — The Johns Creek City Council discussed a bond referendum that would help finance a proposed $60 million performing arts center promoted as a cultural and recreational game-changer. The council took no vote on the measure at its April 28 meeting. Mayor John Bradberry proposed a funding plan that would include $20 million from the city’s cash reserves, $12 million from the Georgia Municipal Assocation’s Brick and Mortar loan program and $28 million from a voter-approved bond.
