Having four Stark County natives in Major League Baseball at the same time seems like a rare occurrence. That's because it is. Specifically, 85 years rare. The county recently had four players in the big leagues, a feat that hadn't happened since 1940. When Ryan Bergert was called up by the San Diego Padres on April 25, he joined the Houston Astros' Zach Dezenzo, the Detroit Tigers' Dillon Dingler and the Pittsburgh Pirates' Kyle Nicolas on MLB rosters. Nicolas has since been optioned to Triple A.

The Ohio High School Athletic Association announced the new divisional breakdowns and playoff regions for the 2025 high school football season on Thursday. No schools in Divisions II through VII opted to move up to Division I. Twelve additional schools moved up a division due to the OHSAA’s competitive balance process that analyzes data from roster information provided by each school from the previous season.
