MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Madison Police Department arrested a passenger after an attack to a Madison Metro Transit driver was reported Monday. Two detectives were walking around 10:20 a.m. Monday down W. Main Street when someone went up to them to say a bus driver needed help, MPD explained in an incident report on Tuesday. MPD recounted that the suspect got on the bus through the back entrance and would not pay.

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A statewide alert was sent out Tuesday afternoon for a 67-year-old Madison man who was last seen on May 1. The Silver Alert from the Wisconsin Department of Justice said Donald Schaefer left his home in the 200 block of Garnet Lane in the evening of May 1. He did not have any belongings or medication with him. The alert indicated he has vascular dementia and heart trouble. Schaefer was described as being 5-foot-9-inches tall and weighing about 130 pounds.

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A dust devil was caught on camera over the weekend in rural Iowa County. WMTV viewer Dennis Glanville saw the whirlwind on Mother’s Day on County Highway G, outside Linden. He said he came around a bend in the road and saw the dust devil cross the road, pick up speed and reach all the way to the sky. WMTV Chief Meteorologist Charlie Shortino explained as the ground heats up, it causes the dust to rise into the air.

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Madison Police Department officers arrested a person Monday night after a stabbing on the city’s south side. MPD explained officers responded around 9:40 p.m. to a parking lot in the 4600 block of Atticus Way. Police said the stabbing happened after two people got into a physical fight. The victim, a 40-year-old woman, was stabbed and is expected to survive. MPD said officers arrested a 52-year-old Madison resident.
