LEWISBURG — A Union County inmate from Mississippi was found with two bags of methamphetamine and two smoked marijuana cigarettes while being processed on June 6, according to the Union County Sheriff's Department. Shaparis S. Cook, 28, of Highway 12E, Kosciusko, Miss., was charged with a felony count of possession of a controlled substance; and a misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance.

LEWISBURG — The Lewisburg Senior Center will be closed indefinitely. The Union-Snyder Area Agency on Aging, Inc., announced the temporary closure of the senior center at 116 N. Second St., Lewisburg, on its website.
