CHICAGO - A stretch of unsettled weather is giving way to a gorgeous weekend across the Chicago area, with sunshine and warming temperatures in the forecast through early next week. What we know: Wednesday stays mostly cloudy with the chance of an isolated shower. Highs will hover in the upper 50s and low 60s — it will be cooler lakeside. Thursday brings partial sunshine and a slight chance for a passing shower during the afternoon. Expect highs in the upper 60s.

CHICAGO - It was a gray and cool Tuesday across the Chicago area, but brighter skies and warmer weather are in sight for the weekend and beyond. What we know: Today will be mostly cloudy with a few sprinkles possible. Highs will top out in the upper 60s to low 70s across the region. It will be cooler lakeside. Lows tonight will dip into the 50s. Wednesday remains mostly cloudy with a chance of light rain and highs in the low to mid 60s.

What we know: Friday turned out to be a beautiful day across the region, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid-60s. A passing rain system will stay south of Chicago this evening, leaving most of the metro area dry heading into the weekend. Saturday brings more sunshine and slightly cooler temps, with highs in the low 60s.
