MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (WKOW) -- Wisconsin defeated Ohio State 4-3 in overtime to win the program's 8th national championship. Wisconsin and Ohio State met for the third straight year in the national championship game at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Kirsten Simms scored the game-winning goal in overtime as well as the goal to send it to overtime for the Badgers. The Buckeyes got on the board first as Joy Dunne scored a short-handed goal 8 minutes and 22 seconds into the game.

By Karley Marotta (WKOW)-- Wisconsin has earned a No. 3 seed in the East Region and will face No. 14 Montana in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday in Denver, Colorado. A win would send the Badgers to the second round on Saturday. The winner of the first-round matchup will face wither No. 6 BYU or No. 11 VCU. Wisconsin finished the regular season 26-9 overall and 13-7 in Big Ten play. The Badgers fell just short of a Big Ten tournament title.

INDIANAPOLIS (WKOW)-- Michigan defeated Wisconsin 59-53 in a battle in Indianapolis to win the Big Ten tournament title. The Badgers led for 24 minutes of the game, but the Wolverines pulled it out in the end. This game came down to the wire, Tre Donaldson hit a three-pointer with 1:54 remaining to take a 53-51 lead. Wisconsin tied it at 53, but Michigan pulled it out at the free throw line. Scoring was difficult on both sides in the first half.

WISCONSIN RAPIDS (WKOW)-- The WIAA state gymnastics meet took place at the Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School Fieldhouse. In Division one, Chippewa Falls Co-op took first place with a team score of 143.550. In Divison two, Rice Lake took first place with a team score of 138.234. Kaylee Frank of Elkhorn Area took home the D1 All-Around title with an overall score of 38.050. In D2, West Bend East's McKennah Orth won the All-Around championship with an overall score of 37.183.
