Many of us are familiar with road construction season, including 10-year-old Helen Petree and her family. “And if those people weren’t there putting their lives at risk to maintain the roads, then we couldn’t go on road trips on safe roads,” Petree said.

KELOLAND News has received a statement from La Petite since this story aired at 5 p.m.SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Two women who worked at Sioux Falls day cares are facing child abuse allegations. One incident was reported Tuesday and the other on Wednesday. Both women are behind bars in Minnehaha County. A 10 minute video captured inside NXTGen Kidz shows 38-year-old Chelsea Struss hitting toddlers, handling them roughly, and dropping one onto the ground face first according to an affidavit.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Families may want to hop to downtown Sioux Falls this weekend. Easter egg hunters will fill up their baskets in downtown Sioux Falls Saturday. The annual Downtown Sioux Falls Easter Egg Hunt includes more than 20 stops where families can pick up treats. Child’s Play Toys will hand out eggs with candy inside. “I can’t wait for it. It’s always such a fun day,” Child’s Play Toys Owner Nancy Savage said.
