You might have to blink twice. We launched Lookout Eugene-Springfield at the end of last week. And it looks a lot like Lookout Santa Cruz, at first blush. There’s the familiar teal and tangerine and recognizable typefaces, but it’s – as it should be – wholly local. That included Monday’s well-attended protest in front of the county courthouse. What we are all relearning: big national stories also are profoundly local ones.

Here, Lookout launches an experiment in poetry – and asks for your input on creating a regular poetry feature. Have something to say? Lookout welcomes letters to the editor, within our policies, from readers. Guidelines here. Welcome to a Community Voices experiment.
