A town’s newest gym has revealed when it will be opening its doors to members. PureGym, the UK’s largest gym operator, will open its new facility in Diss at midday on Friday, June 13. Located in Victoria Road, near to Poundstretcher and Screwfix, the 5,000 square foot gym will provide 24/7 access to its members, a combined functional and class space and a free weights area as well as fixed resistance and cardiovascular equipment.

A former soldier-turned-driving instructor has been answering questions of the road we have all wanted to ask through his social media channel. James Simpkins, from Shimpling, became a driving instructor in January 2017 after being medically discharged from the Army Air Corps the previous year. Having established his business, he then started his YouTube channel, Driving Instructor UK, after having questions himself about some rules of the road.

A pair of Harleston Sancroft Academy Primary pupils will see their posters used in the fight against littering after winning a school competition. Thea Bassett and Dorothy Highcroft won the competition, which was open to all the children at the school with the aim of raising awareness of the need to care for the environment.

A couple who own a popular village pub have taken on an extensive renovation project to preserve it as the heart of its community for centuries to come. Martin and Louise Griffiths, who bought The Kings Head in North Lopham just under two years ago, are in the process of overseeing a complete renovation of the front of the building which started a week before Easter.
