A police officer was taken to hospital following a two-vehicle collision at a town’s mini roundabout at the weekendOfficers from Norfolk Police were called to Stanley Road, in Diss, at 8.35pm on Saturday, following reports that there had been an incident involving a police car. A Norfolk Constabulary spokeswoman said an officer suffered serious injuries due to the collision and was taken to hospital. They had since been discharged and The other driver was unharmed.

A £20,000 project looking at the impact that American airmen had on south Norfolk and the region during the Second World War has launched. Called The Friendly Invasion (TFI) Project, the initiative hopes to showcase the rich history of the 300,000-plus airmen who came to the region, leaving an indelible mark on its landscape, culture and people. The project, which is funded by a £20,000 grant from the Pride in Place initiative, is part of a collaboration across East Anglia.

Simon Shercliff met Anoosheh Ashoori when he was in his post in the Middle East, while the latter spent his final few months in an Iranian prison. An eggs-traordinary twist on a normal egg hunt has been taking place at Banham Zoo over the Easter holidays. The popular attraction laid five giant inflatable eggs around the Kenninghall Road site for families and individuals to find. And when not tracking down tortoise, snake, flamingo, vulture and penguin eggs, visitors were treated to live stage shows, a zoo fun fair and expert-led talks.
