    The trial of a state employee charged with manslaughter for the death of a disabled man in his care got underway Tuesday. Patrick Tracey is charged in the 2021 death of Robert Godley, a long-time resident of the Hogan Regional Center in Danvers, a state-run home for people with developmental disabilities. Prosecutors accuse Tracey of shoving Godley into a wall following an outburst by Godley where he punched and broke a television in a common area.

    As the 30th anniversary of his daughter's murder approaches Sunday, Deanna Cremin's father made his annual pilgrimage to her grave and the square in Somerville named in her honor. "It's about me paying my respects to her and letting her know that I'm still always going to be here for her. And hopefully, we get some answers," said her father, Al Rodgers. Deanna Cremin was found strangled behind a Somerville housing complex on March 30, 1995, just days after her 17th birthday.

    Many of the bridges that soar over land and water throughout the United States are reaching the end of their lifespans, and Massachusetts is among the states with the highest percentage of bridges rated in poor condition. Bridges deemed to be in poor condition have the highest levels of deterioration and damage. Anthony Foxx, former Secretary of the US Department of Transportation, said it's a problem in need of immediate solutions.
