AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - After record breaking high temperatures on Monday more records may fall this week. Triple digit heat is forecast through the workweek. Overnight lows will be in the mid-70s each morning. Both highs and lows are well above average for this time of year, please take it easy! By the weekend highs will drop back into the upper-90s. After 3:00pm scattered thundershowers will form mostly likely near the I-40 corridor an develop south through early evening before weakening. A few storms could be briefly severe with some small hail and gusty winds. Scattered storms remain possible along with highs in the 90s through the first part of the weekend. By Sunday a cold front sweeps through dropping highs into the 70s on Sunday.
