    LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Last summer, Griffin Everitt was selling cars at a local dealership in Lincoln. It was a detour in his baseball career. Everitt quit the sport after shoulder surgery following three seasons at Nebraska. With the Huskers, the Lincoln Southwest graduate started 106 games. “After about eleven months (of selling cars), I had the itch for the game,” Everitt said. “I was ready to give it another shot.”During the winter, Everitt signed a free agent contract with the Lincoln Saltdogs.

    LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln East won all four brackets at the 2025 NSAA Girls State Tennis Championships. The Spartans turned in a dominant effort at Woods Park to claim the Class A team championship. Sophomore Briana Rademacher repeated as the #1 singles champion, while Stella Stempson won the #2 singles title. Both Lincoln East doubles teams captured gold, as well (Belinda Qiao-Kyler Garcia and Stacia Jacobsen-Tatum Lewis).

    LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - For the third time in five years, Nebraska will play in the NCAA Baseball Tournament. The Huskers are heading to the Chapel HillRegional and will play Oklahoma in the first round. The opening game will be on Friday at Boshamer Stadium. Players and coaches learned their postseason fate Monday morning while watching the Selection Show in Lincoln. The announcement came less than 24 hours after the Huskers became the lowest-seeded team to win the Big Ten Tournament.

    LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln East won its second state championship in three years with a 5-4 victory over Millard North late Friday night. Joey Senstock lifted a deep fly ball with the bases loaded in the 7th inning, allowing Brady Hanus to score the game-winning run. Senstock finished the game with a pair of RBI. The Huskers can advance to the sport’s biggest stage with a pair of wins this weekend in Knoxville, Tennessee. The best-of-three NCAA Super Regional begins on Friday at 6:00 p.m. (central) on ESPN2. Nebraska advanced to the Round of 16 after a dominant weekend at the Baton Rouge Regional.
