55 thousand litres of suspected illegal fuel have been seized from a distributor and two filling stations in County Louth. Intelligence led Revenue's Customs Service to suspect the premises had been selling laundered fuel. The seized fuel was removed for further examination. Revenue says the illicit fuel trade is a serious threat to the Exchequer, and undermines the competitiveness of legitimate businesses.

Gardaí are appealing to the public for assistance in locating 12-year-old Sarganis (Kevin) Filipache, who has been reported missing from Dunleer, since Thursday afternoon (8th May). Kevin was last seen in Ashbourne, yesterday afternoon and is described as approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a slim build, black hair, and brown eyes. When last seen, he was wearing a light blue Nike tracksuit (differing shades) top and bottom and black Air Force runners.

20 pipe bombs have been seized in Co. Louth. It's being linked to ongoing gang activity in the area. 190 thousand euro worth of cannabis was recovered on Tuesday April 29th. A cordon was put in place and the army bomb disposal team were called in. The Defence Forces team examined the devices and made them safe and the cordon was lifted. Gardaí say their investigations are ongoing.
