CLOVIS, N.M. (KFDA) - The City of Clovis announced it received a $500,000 grant to complete projects at Ned Houk Park. The New Mexico Economic Development Department’s Outdoor Recreation Division awarded the city the Trails+ grant. The city says it will use the grant for a 140-space parking lot, add drainage infrastructure, and improve signage near the park’s trailhead. “The City of Clovis is excited to receive this much-needed funding to make improvements to the parking area at the trailhead.

The new hours of operation are:Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.Amarillo Animal Management and Welfare will be closed Sunday and Monday. The shelter is located at 3501 S. Osage. AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Beto O’Rourke will host a town hall meeting at the Amarillo Civic Center this Saturday. Event organizers say the meeting is an opportunity for Texans to ask questions about state and federal issues. Anyone interested in attending the meeting can RSVP online here. The Amarillo town hall will take place May 10 at 1 p.m. at the Amarillo Civic Center’s Heritage Room, 401 S. Buchanan St. The event is free and open to the public. Organizers say everyone is welcome.

MOORE COUNTY, Texas (KFDA) - Dumas police arrested a murder suspect wanted out of Arkansas on Wednesday. On Wednesday around 11:15 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop. Police say the passenger in the car was on his way from Arkansas to California. Officials say the passenger told officers that he did not have identification and was evasive when asked questions. The officer positively identified the man as 45-year-old Kenny Ray Daniels.
