MADISON, Wis. -- Roughly 4,000 pounds of recyclables that were dumped on a Madison street caught fire Monday morning, a Madison Fire Department spokesperson said. Crews were called to the area of East Pass and Grove Circle at around 9:12 a.m. A City of Madison Streets Division driver reported dumping the pile of recyclables after noticing the back of their truck smoking. The pile was fully-engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.

BELOIT, Wis. -- Former UW-Whitewater head football coach and Jefferson native Lance Leipold is adding another line to his resume. Leipold and his wife, Kelly, are now minority owners of the Beloit Sky Carp, the High-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins announced Tuesday. Leipold is currently the head football coach of the University of Kansas Jayhawks. "Rishy and I are absolutely thrilled that Lance and Kelly have decided to join us in owning the Sky Carp,” Sky Carp owner Quint Studer shared.

STOUGHTON, Wis. -- Stoughton police said a 19-year-old man who was shot in the face Monday afternoon was in stable condition Tuesday. Officers were called to the 100 block of East Main Street at around 1:21 p.m. Monday for a report that a man had been shot. In an update Tuesday, police said that the 19-year-old man was shot in the face while sitting in the front passenger seat. The driver fled the shooting scene to the 100 block of East Main Street where police were then called.

STOUGHTON, Wis. -- Stoughton police were asking the public to avoid the area of Main Street near South Division Street Monday afternoon. According to a statement posted by the Stoughton Police Department, police were dispatched to the 100 block of East Main Street at around 1:21 p.m. for a report of a male that had been shot. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital by Stoughton EMS, and is being treated for his injuries.

TOWN OF ALBION, Wis. -- A Madison man was in custody Tuesday after he reportedly tried to hit two people with a vehicle then led law enforcement on a chase. According to a Dane County Sheriff's Office spokesperson, a 34-year-old man tried to hit two people working at the Exclusive Hunting Club -- located in the 500 block of Hillside Road in the town of Albion -- with his 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe. One of the workers reportedly fired shots in the air because they feared for their safety.
