LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- The man accused of abducting a pregnant Beaver Dam teen and taking her across state lines wants his federal trial to be delayed. Attorneys for Gary Day, 40, filed for a continuance last week asking a judge in Arkansas to move back his trial, scheduled for July 11, because he is being held in Wisconsin on a $2 million bond.

MADISON, Wis. -- Monday night's thunderstorms caused damage around the Madison area and prompted Madison Fire Department crews to spring into action. Firefighters responded Monday to a medley of incidents including stranded vehicles, downed trees and power outages. Just after 6:30 p.m. along With Court on the city's east side, a downed tree took out power lines and landed on a car.

MADISON, Wis. -- Deans and vice chancellors at the University of Wisconsin-Madison will have to make tough choices in the coming weeks. University leadership on Monday announced budget cuts for the next financial year. Schools and colleges will be required to cut their base budget by 5% of their FY 2026 Fund 101 allocation. All other parts of the university that receive Fund 101 money, including administrative, will have to cut their base budget by 7% of their FY26 allocation.
