    FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) – Every year the Fort Wayne Home and Garden show chooses a nonprofit to donate a portion of ticket sales, and the latest recipient is Humane Fort Wayne. For the very first time, Humane Fort Wayne was chosen for a $25,000 grant from the home and garden show. Fort Wayne Home and Garden show owner Becky Williamson accompanied by “Gnorm the Gnome” presented the check to humane Fort Wayne staff earlier today.

    FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) – Shawnee Middle School was awarded a $1500 grant to promote the Healthy Bodies tobacco prevention campaign. They decided to focus on anti-vaping and got the whole school behind it. This is the second year in a row the school has received the grant. During the campaign students submitted anti-vape videos and drawings to push the message. The school used the grant money to buy prizes for students who made the best anti-vaping message.

    FORT WAYNE, Ind. WFFT) – Volunteers from Continental Original Equipment Solutions decided to step out of the office to give back to the community through a landscaping project at the Volunteers of America Richard Lugar Safe Haven (VOA) building. Inside the safe haven staff help veterans to get back on their feet with things like finding employment and housing. The volunteers thought what perfect way to celebrate national volunteer month than to make some adjustments to the outside.
