LEO, Ind. (WFFT) -- When Michelle Rodgers learned that Leo Elementary School was named state champions of the Prodigy State challenge, the school's principal said it seemed too good to be true. "When I got the email at first I thought, 'is this fake?' I had to do some more research to make sure that it was indeed real!"Leo Elementary was awarded the Indiana state championship for the month of March. The math challenge is hosted through Prodigy Education and names one champion per state each month.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) -- #8 Indiana Tech men's lacrosse pulled off a comeback victory over #5 Madonna, 17-11, on Senior Night at Warrior Athletic Field. Madonna opened the game with four straight goals, before Indiana Tech found two man-down goals in less than 20 seconds to close the first quarter. Madonna took a 5-2 lead early in the second quarter, but the Warriors then scored 5 straight goals to take the lead. Indiana Tech built a 10-7 lead by halftime.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) – The Allen County Heath Department has confirmed 5 additional cases of measles within the county. This includes 3 unvaccinated minors and 2 adults of unknown vaccinated status. All of the sick patients are recovering. This now makes 6 measles cases in Allen County this year after one case was confirmed earlier this week. The Health Department says that all six cases are related, but that no links have been found to separate outbreaks in other parts of the country.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) – Around 150 people came out to McMillen Park Thursday night for the city’s Southeast Strategy open house. Mayor Sharon Tucker joined City Councilwoman Rohli Booker and Director of Community Development Jonathan Leist as speakers, while also chatting with local residents to garner their opinions, wants, and needs. This open house is part of the city’s Southeast Strategy initiative.
