SAUGET, Ill. – After months of construction, a busy stretch of Interstate 255 between Illinois 157 and Illinois 15 has reopened, much to the relief of drivers who have been detouring for months. The $65.4 million project, part of Governor J.B. Pritzker’s Rebuild Illinois plan, was completed over a month and a half ahead of schedule. This plan is a $33 billion infrastructure program aimed at upgrading roads and bridges across Illinois.
