CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The Cleveland Monsters went a perfect 2-0 over the weekend when they transformed into the Pierogies. The Monsters beat the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins 3-0 on Saturday night at Rocket Arena. With the win, the Monsters are now 33-21-5-6 and in fourth place in the AHL’s North Division standings. Hunter McKown opened scoring just 36 seconds into the game off a feed from Roman Ahcan to give the Monsters an early lead.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Roman Ahcan had a hat trick as the Cleveland Monsters beat the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins 7-1. The Monsters transformed to the Pierogies for the weekend for, “Pucks and Pierogies,” and gave the home crowd a show. Ahcan scored the only goal of the opening frame at 4:09 off feeds from Cole Clayton and Hunter McKown putting Cleveland ahead 1-0 after 20 minutes.
